The President of the Eurogroup, Mr Jean-Claude Juncker, the President of the European Central Bank, Mr Jean-Claude Trichet, and the European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs, Mr Joaquìn Almunia, will be in Nanjing for the second macroeconomic dialogue between China and the Euro area on Sunday, 29th November 2009.
The Euro area delegation will meet Chinese Prime Minister Mr. Wen Jiabao, the Minister of Finance Mr. Xie Xuren, the Governor of the People’s Bank of China Mr. Zhou Xiaochuan, as well as the Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission Mr. Zhang Ping.
The Europgroup representatives visit follows a first meeting in November 2007, which aims to establish a structured dialogue between political, economic and monetary authorities of the People’s Republic of China and the Euro area, and strengthen economic and monetary consultation and cooperation between the two parties.
