Mount Wuyi is located in the north of Fujian Province and covers an area of 60 square kilometers.
The mountain has both great natural and cultural significance. It contains one of the most excellent subtropical Chinese forests in the world, with a diversity of relic plant species, green trees, bamboo plants and rare animals. The landscape is particularly impressive and known for its beautiful mountain peaks, energetic streams and unique rock formations.
Wuyi also has numerous exceptional archaeological areas, temples, monasteries and many other cultural relics including stone inscriptions. It also is an important center of Chinese Taoism.
