General Motors Corp. (NYSE: GM), the world's largest automaker, has been the global industry sales leader for 76 years. Founded in 1908, GM today employs about 280,000 people around the world. WITh global headquarters in DetroIT, GM manufactures its cars and trucks in 33 countries. In 2006, nearly 9.1 million GM cars and trucks were sold globally under the following brands: Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, GM Daewoo, Holden, HUMMER, Opel, Pontiac, Saab, Saturn and Vauxhall. GM is the majority shareholder in GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co. of South Korea, and has product, powertrain and purchasing collaborations with Suzuki Motor Corp. and Isuzu Motors Ltd. of Japan. GM also has advanced technology collaborations with DaimlerChrysler AG and BMW AG of Germany and Toyota Motor Corp. of Japan, and vehicle manufacturing ventures with several automakers around the world, including Toyota, Suzuki, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. of China, AVTOVAZ of Russia and Renault SA of France.

Genuine GM Parts and accessories are sold under the GM, GM Performance Parts, GM Goodwrench and ACDelco brands through GM Service and Parts Operations, which supplies GM dealerships and distributors worldwide. GM engines and transmissions are marketed through GM Powertrain.
GM's largest national market in the first half year of 2007 is the United States, followed by China, the United Kingdom and Brazil, Canada.


General Motors began doing business in Asia Pacific in 1915, when it introduced Buick and Cadillac products to Japanese consumers. Today, GM has automotive facilities and sales operations in more than 15 countries. GM sold a record 1,247,000 vehicles in Asia Pacific in 2006, taking its regional market share to 6.5 percent.

In 1993, GM established its Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore to provide regional support and be closer to individual markets and better positioned to respond to opportunities. It relocated its headquarters to Shanghai in 2004 to put it in closer proximity to its growing operations in Northeast Asia, which account for a significant portion of its business.

Over the next decade, GM anticipates that vehicle sales in Asia Pacific will grow at a faster rate than sales in any other region. With an established presence in the key markets of Australia, mainland China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea and Thailand, GM seeks to maximize the challenges and opportunities ahead.

GM is collaborating with Isuzu Motors Ltd. and Suzuki Motor Corp. on a variety of projects. In addition, GM is the largest shareholder in GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co. (GM Daewoo). GM also has a technology partnership with Toyota Motor Corp. and vehicle manufacturing ventures with several automakers, including Toyota, Suzuki and SAIC.

GM's broad product portfolio in Asia Pacific encompasses the Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GM Daewoo, HUMMER, Opel, Saab and Wuling brands. In addition, GM is represented by the Holden brand in Australia and New Zealand. In some countries, GM also markets vehicles manufactured by GM Daewoo, Isuzu and Suzuki

The General Motors-China relationship dates back more than eight decades. GM China's vision is together with its partners, to be the best automotive group in China.

GM operates seven joint ventures and two wholly owned foreign enterprises and has more than 20,000 employees in China. GM, along with its joint ventures, offers the broadest lineup of vehicles and brands among automakers in China. Products are sold under the Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Opel, Saab and Wuling nameplates. In 2006, sales of vehicles by GM and its joint ventures rose 31.8 percent on an annual basis to a record 876,747 units. GM ended 2006 with 11.6 percent market share in China.

Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing (VSSM) Intern

Estimated Duration: 3-6 months, long-term preferred


Timing: At least 3 days per week, full time preferred

Job Descriptions:
•Support regional marketing projects like sponsorships, vehicle launch and etc
•Participate in regional marketing meetings, support meeting reports and action tracking
•Track brand performance in key markets, develop monthly report on sales and newsflash
•Collaborate with vendor/agency for digital marketing execution
•Support Asia Pacific markets requests like marketing toolkits
•Website building and maintenance in collaboration with IT colleague

Qualifications:
•Postgraduate student of top universities, major in Management or Economics a plus
•Language skills in English and Mandarin
•Knowledge of automotive industry and dealer operations a plus
•Proficient PC knowledge, experienced with Excel and Power Point required
•Multi-national corporation intern experience preferred.

Human Resources Intern

•Headcount report preparation
•Other administrative things such as cleaning P-file, arranging interviews, scheduling meeting and big project support

Qualifications:
•Postgraduate or undergraduate student of top universities
•Intern experience in multinational companies a plus
•Excellent MS-office skills
•Proficient language skills in English and Mandarin
•Good team player, detail-oriented, efficient

Administrative Assistant Intern

•Help create a regional PT product spec database
•Collect competitive intelligence
•Help to create a regional PT program master tracking sheet

Qualifications:
•Graduate student with business or engineering major
•Basic knowledge of the automotive industry
•Proficient PC knowledge, excellent Excel and Power Point skills required
•Experience in product planning, statistics a plus

Personal Attributes:

•Undergraduate degree or equivalent
•Strong personal / interpersonal skills
•Good English and Chinese oral and written skills

Finance Intern
Estimated Duration: 3 ~ 6 months
Timing: At least 3 days per week, full time preferred

Job Descriptions:
•Collect data from different systems and make management report and travel report monthly
•Follow up and analyze feedback from all departments on reports by communicating with units and departments
•Deal with inter-company expense re-bills between AP and other units by communicating with other units and relative contact persons via email or telephone
•Making process control of POR (Purchasing Order Requisition) & Allied Invoice

Qualifications:
•Graduate student major in finance
•Basic knowledge of the automotive industry
•Proficient PC knowledge, excellent Excel and Power Point skills required
