尊敬的何鲁丽副委员长，

尊敬的布赫副委员长，

尊敬的弗朗兹·叶森代办及欧盟国家的各位大使，

尊敬的各位来自欧盟国家的朋友，

 女士们、先生们、朋友们：

 
　　今天，我们在这里举行招待会，庆祝中国欧盟协会第一届理事会第二次全体会议的召开。首先，我要向全国人大副委员长何鲁丽同志，向前全国人大副委员长布赫同志来参加今天的招待会表示感谢；向欧盟驻华代表团及欧盟各国驻华大使馆的驻华使节表示最热烈的欢迎，向与会的中欧协会的理事们表示最诚挚的问候。

　　中国欧盟协会作为一个全国性的民间机构，致力于发展对欧盟民间友好关系的发展。其工作的宗旨是在中国与欧盟之间建立起理解、信任和友谊，促进中欧在二十一世纪建立良好关系以实现共同发展。

　　中欧协会自成立以来本身也在不断发展壮大。目前，中欧协会已发展到170多名来自全国23个省、自治区和直辖市的团体会员和个人会员。我希望中欧协会工作今后能吸引更多的社会团体和各界人士的参与。
　　中欧协会在过去的两年多时间里举行了一系列有意义的活动，向中国公众介绍欧盟的发展，促进中欧在经济、社会和文化等领域的合作，取得了一定的成绩。这些成绩的取得得益于中欧协会全体会员的共同努力和社会各界的大力支持。我谨此向所有支持我们事业的单位和个人表示最诚挚的谢意。同时，我们期待着今后进一步与各位尊敬的大使及朋友们进行亲密的合作，共同迎接中欧关系不断发展的新时期。

　　何鲁丽副委员长作为中欧协会的名誉会长，非常关心中欧协会的工作。我们所取得的成绩与关心和支持是分不开的。我谨以中欧协会的名义向何鲁丽名誉会长致敬和致谢！

　　我还要借此机会向欧盟各位尊贵的外交使节致敬。多年来中国人民对外友好协会与欧盟驻华代表团及欧盟各国大使馆保持着良好的合作关系。希望继续得到你们的有力支持和帮助。

　　中欧关系近年来不断提升，特别是中欧领导人第六次会晤取得了丰硕的成果，我们感到非常高兴。这位中欧协会的工作提供了广阔的发展空间，我们将尽到努力，为中欧全面合作创造更加雄厚的社会基础。

　　我们密切关注欧盟一体化的进程，我们选择12月15日开会，本来是想迎接并庆祝欧盟宪法的诞生。现在我们虽然未能做到这一点，但我们仍希望到明年欧盟实行最大规模的扩大时能够庆祝欧盟宪法的诞生。欧洲的联合、一体化甚至于统一是一个伟大的历史运动，这个运动要走过漫长曲折的道路，但不管怎样，一个联合起来的欧洲将不会使我们感到失望，让我们对未来的欧盟，未来的欧洲表达美好的祝福！

2nd Plenum of the 1st Council of the China-EU Association

Respected H.E.Franz Jessen,Charge d’arraires of the EU Delegation of the European

Commission in Beijing and H.E.Ambassadors from EU member states,

Distinguished guests from EU countries,

Friends,Ladies and Gentlemen,

 

Today we host this reception here to celebrate the convening of the 2nd Plenum of the 1st Council of the China-EU Association.First,I would like to express my hearty thanks to Madame He Luli,Vice-Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the National People’s Congress for your gracious attendance.And I would like to extend my warmest welcome to representatives from the EU delegation and embassies of E member states in Beijing and offer my sincere greetings to the council members of the China-EU Association present here today.

 

As a national people’s organization,the China-EU Association engages itself in developing the people-to-people friendly relations with the European Union aiming at building understanding,trust and friendship between China and EU,promoting a sound Sino-EU relationship to achieve common development in the 21st century.

 

The China-EU Association has developed and expanded significantly since its establishment.Currently we have over 170 group and individual members from 23 provinces,autonomous regions and municipalities across China.In the future,I hope to see the pqrticipation from more social groups and people from all walks of life in the work of our Association.

 

In the past two years,the China-EU Association has held a series of activities to introduce to the general public the development of EU,promote the Sino-EU cooperation in the economic,social and cultural fielda.The result has been proved fruitful,thanks to the concerted dfforts of our members and generous support from all sectors of society.Here I would like to express my sincere thanks to the organizations and individuals who have offered their support to us.At the same time,we would like to further our cooperation with Your Excellencies Ambassadors and all our dearest friends to welcome a new phase of continuous development of Sino-EU relations.

 

As the honorary president of the China-EU Association,Madame He luli has been giving close attention to our work.We would have never made all these achievements without her consideration and support.Here on behalf of the China-EU Association,I wish to express our best regards and gratitude to Madame He Luli.

On this propitious occasion,I would also like to pay respects to the distinguished ambassadors and representatives from the EU delegation and embassies in China.The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries has long been maintaining a god cooperative relationship with EU delegation and embassies of EU member states here in Beijing.We hope to continue gaining your suport and assistance in the future.

 

The Sino-EU relationship has been improving continuously in recent years .We are especially glad with the fruitrul results achieved at the Sixth China-EU Leader’s Meeting.This provides a broad scope for the development of our work and we will make efforts to create a more solid social foundation for an all-around China-EU cooperation.

 

We watch closely the integration process of EU.We choose December 15 to convene the meeting,originally intended to welcome and celebrate the birth of the EU constitution.Although it hasn’t been realized,we still hope to welcome the new constitution  next year when EU is enlarged to 25 member states.The EU alliance,integration and even unirication is a great historical movement,which will proceed on a long and tortuous path.But we will never be disappointed with a united Europe.Let’s send our best regards to the future EU and Europe!
